Associazione Culturale Sparpagliati
“Sparpagliati” (i.e. “Scattered”) cultural association was born in 2017 after the début of Muja Buskers Festival. It was founded by a group of friends “scattered” all around Italy but sharing a common objective: expanding and affirming the street-theatre and contemporary-circus summer event in the town of Muggia.
This group strongly believes in this project and contributed to the organisation of the first edition of Muja Buskers Festival by offering its expertise. Sparpagliati can count on the collaboration of professionals in various fields such as artistic direction, graphics, web-mastering and photography, press, etc. They know how to build up strong relationships with local communities, institutions, associations, and sponsors. Sparpagliati members will be involved in all organisational steps of the Festival. The open-minded and democratic nature of the association will enrich the artistic, cultural, and social background of the crew.
Artistic Director
RICCARDO STRANO
Riccardo Strano has studied theatre, classical, and contemporary dance with major Italian and French artists; he also studied at the FLIC School of Circus Arts in Turin. Before attending the school in Turin, he deepened his studies in performing arts by reading university books and by graduating in the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of the Entertainment Department. His education has been shaped by many different experiences, from musicals to contemporary circus, from theatre-dance to street theatre. Thus, all along the years, he has developed an on-stage know-how in various art expressions. He has further finished his education by graduating in contemporary circus drama at both the CNAC, Centre National des Arts du Cirque Châlons-en-Champagne, France and the ESAC, Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirqueof Brussels, Belgium.
Today, Riccardo Strano is one of the most well-known street artists in Italy. In fact, over the last ten years, he has been invited as a special guest to the most important Italian contemporary-circus and street-art festivals and his show “Qualcosa di Strano” was performed up to 500 times.
He is artistic director of OnArts company and of several festivals and events such as “Etna Buskers” and “Notte Bianca di Messina”. Currently, he is artistic director of
the prestigious “OltreNoto” festival held in the UNESCO baroque town of Noto (Sicily), and of “Muja Buskers Festival” taking place in Muggia, in Trieste province.
Riccardo’s specific expertise has led him to undertake important institutional roles. In fact, he has collaborated as an advisor with Federazione Nazionale Arte di Strada (National Street-Art Federation) and has represented Italian street artists in meetings with the institutions. He is also vice-president of the Italian Contemporary Circus Association, which represents circus artists.
